new look

i am trying to update the ol' blog, but the new changes on blogger are not working with me. all five of my loyal readers, please deal with the ugly-ness that may be happening in the next few days weeks months. feel free to leave some tips in the comments if you want to offer some help. i need to redo pretty much everything. i think the most important is the outdated photo...which will be one year old the end of the month. we've all changed a little...
