about a month ago, adam took part in an alumni football game for his high school. this was all set up through an organization called alumni football usa. the players pay an amount to participate and then the ticket sales and concession earnings are given back to the schools...it turned out to be a great fundraiser with little effort to raise the money. the refs were hired by the company and the uniforms were provided as well, but the albia team decided to pull out some old jerseys to wear. their opponent was eddyville-blakesburg playing at eddyville. it was a very warm, july evening and was NOT football weather, but they participant enjoyed it and the fans did too.

the final score was albia 14, eddyville-blakesburg 20. although they didn't win, for the ages of some of those guys (some as old as 42) they did really well. i had to leave early because i had kids the next morning and i was two hours away from home, so i didn't see my husband get the defensive MVP award. apparently all the stories he tells me about his high school athletic days are true...i just hope i don't have to witness an alumni wrestling meet anytime....that could be scary.
