farmer's market

a few weekends ago, we headed to des moines for the downtown farmer's market. it was on my summer's bucket list, and as a family, we never got there. i kind of twisted adam's arm and persuaded him to go. we left early and got there before the rush of people. it was a cool, crisp october morning, which made for good time. we spent a few hours down there, checking things out and doing a little people watching.
little boy got a balloon sword and he got to ride the choo-choo.
he was really excited when i sat him in there, but as they went along, he wasn't so sure. he started crying right as the guy was pulling up to stop. i don't think he was as thrilled with the ride as i had hoped.
i scored some pretty good produce bargains. everything in the below picture cost me about 6 dollars. i think we spent more than 6 dollars just on the goodies we ate in a 2 hour period.
this amish made bad boy was a hit. it lasted three nights and was the key to little boy eating his dinner. once the pie was gone, his good eating went do sh!t. i guess i need to put on my apron and start making pies.
